Why I Don’t Use Kegels
For the past 14 years, my work as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist has been shaped by one clear mission: helping women finally understand their bodies and get the pelvic floor care they deserve. Early in my career, I realized that far too many women were struggling in silence. Whether they were experiencing pain during intimacy, leaking when they laughed or exercised, or feeling disconnected from their bodies after having babies, they all shared a common story—no one had ever given them real answers. Many didn’t know where to turn for help, and others simply didn’t have the time or childcare to seek consistent in-person treatment.
That’s when everything changed. After years of hands-on work and clinical experience, I discovered what so many women needed to hear: Kegels don’t work for most people. This science is supported by studies on pelvic floor muscle overactivity, and it ultimately led to the creation of the No Kegels University® Method—a whole-body, movement-based approach that focuses on breath, coordination, pressure management, and nervous system regulation instead of isolated squeezing.
Your pelvic floor is far more complex than “just do your Kegels,” and when women are finally given an approach that addresses the true root cause of their symptoms, everything shifts. Over the past 14 years, I’ve helped thousands of women strengthen their pelvic floor and core using this method—women struggling with leaking, prolapse, pelvic pain, painful sex, postpartum recovery, and diastasis recti. Today, I’m committed to bringing this life-changing, Kegel-free approach to even more women through both in-person therapy and virtual pelvic floor care, so you can find real relief no matter where you live.
